This is the perfect way to ease yourself in the the world of negronis or find some alternative recipes you might enjoy more.
At #negroniweek last year, I revealed a big secret of mine: I’m not the biggest fan of negronis. I find the traditional equal parts recipe super intense and rather unenjoyable. I do love the flavours separately though, and have found loads of delicious cocktail recipes that use vermouth and Campari in smaller quantities. Last year I did a series over Negroni Week, which I dubbed ‘Negroni Week for the Non-Negroni Drinker’ and this year I am bringing it back for part two! So this week I will be sharing six recipes that incorporate flavours and ingredients from the classic negroni, but aren’t full-on, bitter, face-slapping drink. This first recipe is perfect for all you Aperol spritz fans. Let’s go!
Here’s how to make a Campari Spritz at home.
Ingredients
- 45 ml Campari
- 90 ml prosecco
- Soda water to top
- Orange twist garnish
Method
Fill a rocks glass with ice and all the ingredients. Stir gently to combine so you don’t lose the fizz. Garnish with an orange twist.
