You might think I’m weird, but I absolutely love looking around liquor stores just for the fun of it. When I was in Paris last week I was stoked to find rhum agricole, a style of rum from Martinique made from sugar cane which I’d heard so much about but was never able to find in NZ. Needless to say, I grabbed a bottle and made a round of one the most classic rhum cocktails that night.
Here’s how to make a Ti Punch at home.
Ingredients
- 60 ml gold rhum agricole
- 5 ml cane syrup or simple syrup
- Squeeze of lime juice
- Lime peel coin to garnish
Method
Add the cane syrup or simple syrup and lime juice to an empty rocks glass and stir to combine. Add the rum and a few large ice cubes. Stir gently to combine and dilute slightly. Garnish with a lime peel coin.
