The sky is pretty grey in Amsterdam right now, which got me craving a Greyhound. I really like this drink – firstly, because of it’s simplicity and secondly, because the recipe lets you choose between two base spirits: vodka or gin. Plus, all you have to do is give the glass a salt rim and it becomes a completely different drink, a Salty Dog.
Here’s how to make a Greyhound at home.
Ingredients
- 60 ml vodka or gin (I prefer gin)
- Freshly squeezed grapefruit juice to top
- Grapefruit slice to garnish
Method
Fill a rocks glass with ice and add the spirit of your choice. Top with freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, give it a quick stir and garnish with a slice of grapefruit.
