The Rum Swizzle is a drink that comes from the Caribbean, with mentions of the drink dating back as early as the mid-eighteenth century. The original Rum Swizzle uses dark rum, which is super delicious. This variation uses gold rum which makes for a lighter, more subtle kind of Swizzle.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Gold Rum
  • 15 ml Lime Juice
  • 22.5 ml Falernum
  • 4 dashes Bitters
  • Mint to garnish

Method

Add the rum, lime juice and falernum to a tall glass and fill halfway with crushed ice. Give it a swizzle with a swizzle stick (or stir it with a barspoon or straw) until the glass goes frosty. Now fill the glass to the top with crushed ice, top with a few dashes of bitters and garnish with a mint sprig.
